FOUNDERS’ BIOGRAPHIES

Jonathan Twiford – Managing Director, Partner

“John” was born in 1980 in Winchester Virginia, USA.  He is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy located in Kings Point New York.  He also attended the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina in the International MBA program.
His career path has included working as a field engineer, merchant ship’s officer, a ship designer, and an entrepreneur.
He is active in the American Chamber of Commerce, and the US Department of Commerce’s Export Consortium for Small Businesses.  His goal is to assist small companies in selling their products overseas in a way that benefits all parties involved. 
Mr. Twiford is active in the Orthodox Catholic church where ever he is.  He enjoys sailing, hunting and fishing, and working out.

 

Anthony Skove

Founder and partner Tony Skove has extensive entrepreneurial and marketing experience both at home and abroad.  He has started and managed businesses in both North and South America, and has received an International Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business.  He is fluent in Spanish. 

 

Ryan H. Ige

“Ryan” was born in 1985 in Honolulu, Hawaii.  He completed his undergraduate studies at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon as Valedictorian of his class with a triple degree in Economics, Business Administration and Japanese Studies. During the 2005-2006 school year, Ryan participated in a study abroad and home stay program in which he attended Waseda University.  He also attended the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business in the International MBA program.

Ryan’s hobbies include swimming, music and reading.

ENDURANCE TRADING, LLC

HISTORY

 Endurance Trading, LLC is a Columbia, South Carolina based corporation specializing in Consulting and International Management.  The company was founded in December 2007 by three partners.   The company currently has clients in the United States and abroad. 

MISSION

At Endurance Trading, LLC we believe that every organization should have the ability and the knowledge to leverage their products and ideas to the maximum potential.  In the age of globalization this means that the smallest players in the world are becoming more important as they tap new markets in search of profitability. 

Our mission is to help small and medium sized businesses to grow up.  

We are also in the business of helping others improve their quality of life by providing interesting material for others to read and learn about business based upon expert knowledge, rather than Internet hearsay. 

STORY

So why did we choose the name Endurance Trading? 

Well, it certainly was not by chance.

In the year 1914 one of the most aggressive Antarctic Expeditions was undertaken by Sir Ernest Shackleton.  The Goal was to cross the Antarctic continent by foot from one side to the other.  Unfortunately, events did not turn out as planned, and the expedition to cross Antarctic turned out to be one of the greatest stories of man against nature ever recorded.

In the end Sir Ernest Shackelton led his original crew of 28 men from the middle of the Antarctic to safety, without any casualties.  His crew survived for over 2 years in Antarctica through extraordinary odds and then Sir Ernest Shackelton and a couple of crew members sailed in a life boat to a Norwegian whaling camp to get help for the rest of his crew.  The life boat that sailed for South Georgia island was navigated with only 4 sextant sights where one degree of error along the passage would have meant that the crew would have missed the island.

Indeed a true case study in leadership by example, since Shackleton risked it all to save his crew.  And that he did.
